About What's Going Away
What's Going Away is a plain, dated list of the services and habits being switched off: the email feature that's ending, the phone line being retired, the computer that stops getting updates. Each change has a guide that explains what's happening, how to tell whether it affects you, and what to do, with a checklist you can print and keep by the phone.
Who it's for
Anyone who would rather hear about a change calmly and early than in a panic the week it happens. Many of the changes on the list land hardest on people who have used the same email address, phone line or computer for years, because the old way kept working. That's a good reason to have used it, and the guides are written with that in mind.
Who runs it
What's Going Away is an independent website published by SELC Enterprises, LLC, a small company in the United States. We aren't connected with Google, Microsoft, any phone company, bank, pharmacy or government agency.
How the information is checked
Every date comes from the company's or agency's own announcement, from an official filing, or, where neither is available, from a news report we name. Every guide lists its sources with the date they were last checked. How we keep this list explains the whole process, including why we never print support phone numbers.
Corrections
If something is wrong or out of date, email hello@whatsgoingaway.com. We check every report against the source, and when we correct a guide we say what changed and when, at the bottom of that guide.
Advertising
The site is paid for by advertising. Ads are kept away from this page, the privacy and contact pages, and the "page not found" page. Advertisers have no say in what we write.
Affiliate links
This site carries no affiliate links at the moment. If that changes, links that may earn us a commission will be marked where they appear, and this paragraph will say so. A commission will never decide what we recommend.
